What is Christianity about? This free 12-minute movie will help you understand what Christianity is about.

What is Christianity About? / Who is a Christian?

We read in the Bible in Acts 11:26 that in Antioch the followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” – they followed Jesus’ example by being like Christ in behavior, activity, and speech.  That is what the  word “Christian” literally means,  a “follower of Christ.”

Unfortunately over time, the word “Christian” has lost a great deal of its significance.   “Christian” is often referred to someone who is religious or who has high moral values.

Many people who do not believe and trust in Jesus Christ consider themselves Christians simply because they go to church or they live in a “Christian” nation.  But going to church, or being a good person does not make you a Christian!  Attending MacDonald’s and paying for a hamburger does not make you a hamburger, does it?  Likewise, attending services regularly, and giving to the work of the church does not make you a Christian.

The Bible teaches us in Titus 3:5 that, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done…” and Ephesians 2:8 tells us that it is “…by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

Watch the video,  “Living Free” – Part Two of Session One and discover what Christianity is about and who makes a true Christian.
