About God and Love

We all need to be loved.  It is one of our greatest needs. We need to know that somebody cares about us, wants us and accepts us unconditionally.  The Bible tells us that God loves you and me:  He wants us, cares about us and loves us unconditionally!

Let’s look at some Bible verses about God’s love.

God’s love is giving

“God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father.” (James 1:17a)

 God’s love is sacrificial

“God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful.”(Romans 5:8)

Paul declared, “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

God’s love is unconditional

God’s unconditional love is illustrated in His relationship with the nation Israel.

“You were the weakest of all nations, but the LORD chose you because he loves you and because he had made a promise to your ancestors.”  (Deuteronomy 7:7-8a)

God’s love has no limits

“God’s mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great.” (Ephesians 2:4)

“I want you to know all about Christ’s love, although it is too wonderful to be measured.” (Ephesians 3:19)

God’s love is life changing

“We love,” said the Apostle John, “because God loved us first.” (1 John 4:19)

“GOD IS LOVE.” (John 16:27) and we will learn in this Session Three – Part Two of the ‘Living Free’ series that faith works through love.
